Most American schools now have metal detectors at the entrances to screen out weapons. Trevor is a black teacher in a dangerous area. After one of his students almost stabs him to death, he moves to Los Angeles. He also works in a troubled neighborhood. He soon gets fed up with the threats of the puffed-up gangsters and the weak, withdrawn reactions of the school administration. After his colleague is threatened with death, he confronts the street gangs. The guys soon realize that Trevor is not the kind of teacher who lets himself be intimidated...
