The white-masked singer-guitarist of the legendary KFT band, the popular “Nooormális?” Pista uncle of the absurd humor-representing L'art pour l'art Társulat Besenyő, a teacher at the Tan Kapuja Buddhist College, a mystic and painter on a spiritual path – all of this can be expressed in two words: András Laár. The widely recognized, versatile artist now shows all of his faces in his newly published autobiographical book, which is made exciting and captivating reading by the (la)flow of colorful stories interwoven with a unique sense of humor. I started playing the violin at the age of 7, switched to the guitar at the age of 14, and joined my first band at the age of 16. We formed the KFT band when I was 25, and all four of us were 26 when we joined. My comedy career began at the age of 30 with the Laár pour Laár evening, but Buddhism also entered my life at that time. At the age of 36, I stepped away from the stage for a while, suspended my orchestral and theatrical activities, and went on a solitary retreat for two and a half months. After that, I taught astrology, Buddhism, and I Ching at the Buddhist College for years. At the age of 38, I started performing again with the L'art pour l'art Company, and we filmed very successful TV shows starring the Besenyő family. At the age of 45, I started playing music again in the KFT, which is still going on. At the age of 60, I held a lifetime achievement concert with the participation of my musician friends. Since then, I have also been painting, and my paintings have been featured in three exhibitions. I left the L'art pour l'art Society six months ago and became completely my own boss: I write, play music, give lectures, and live an active life. I am 67 years old and feel good in my own skin.
